Shaykh Atiyya Muhammad Salim was born in Egypt and then moved to the blessed city of Madinah al-Munawarrah at a young age. He received his Islamic education at the feet of teachers such as Shaykh bib Baz, Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq Affifi, and Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahman Hamza Shamil. When the Islamic university of Madinah al-Munawwarah was established in 1381 AH, Shaykh Salim entered the field of law and quickly rose to the position of chief justice of the holy city of Madinah al-munawwarah. after spending thirty years as a judge, he retired in 1414 AH to a life of teaching the Islamic sciences in al-Masjid al-Nabawi. His brilliant lectures quickly earned him widespread popularity amongst laymen and scholars alike.
Al-Nadi Al-Arabi is now proud to present this invaluable work in English, translated by Ml.Abdullah Jabir and Ml. Asadullah Khan. Both translators are exceptional students who are highly regarded by their peers and teachers alike for their aptitude and diligence. During their tenure of study at Darul Uloom Zakariyya, they translated this work, ‘Tarawih as performed for Over One Thousand Years in al-Masjid al-Nabawi into English. We pray that Allah grants them many more opportunities to serve his Deen with sincerity and steadfastness.
