Islamic books

This is the adult reading range: Qurans and tafseer, hadith collections, fiqh, seerah, and books on character and daily practice. It sits alongside the children's range and the madrassah kitaabs, which are stocked separately because they are bought for different reasons.

Titles come from a number of Islamic publishers, so the same subject often appears in several editions at different prices and translation styles. Where that happens, the publisher and translator on the product page are usually the deciding detail.

Questions and answers

What subjects do your Islamic books cover?
The adult range covers Quran and tafseer, hadith, fiqh, seerah, and books on character and daily practice. Children's titles and madrassah kitaabs sit on their own pages.
Do you stock translated Qurans?
Yes, translated and dual language Qurans are stocked alongside Arabic only editions. The translator is named on the product page, which matters more than most people expect.
Which translation should I choose?
It depends on what you want from it: some translations read more literally and others more fluently. Comparing a page of each is the practical way to decide, which is easier in store.
What is tafseer?
Tafseer is commentary that explains the meaning, context and background of the Quran, rather than translation alone. It is usually published as a multi volume set.
Do you stock hadith collections?
Yes, the major collections are stocked in various editions and formats. Which volumes a set includes is listed on the product page.
Are the books hardcover or paperback?
Both, and the binding is given on each product page. Hardcover is the usual choice for anything that will be referred to repeatedly, such as tafseer sets.
What size print do the Qurans come in?
Editions range from pocket sizes for travel to large print for comfortable reading at home. Print size and dimensions are listed where the publisher provides them.
Can you order a title you do not stock?
Often, since the range shifts as publishers restock. Send us the title, author and edition and we will tell you whether it can be sourced.
How much do Islamic books cost?
Titles run from around R25 for small books to roughly R599 for large tafseer sets and premium Qurans. Most single titles sit well below that.
Can I compare translations in store?
Yes, and it is the most practical way to choose one, since reading the same passage in two editions settles it quickly. Cii Stores is a physical shop in Ormonde, Johannesburg, and you can also order online for delivery across South Africa.
Do you sell Quran stands and covers?
Quran covers and juzdaans are stocked on their own page, and reading stands appear alongside them. They are commonly bought together with a Quran.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
Standard shipping is R160 and orders are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Delivery is free on orders over R1500.
Can I return a book?
Yes. Non consumable items can be returned within 7 days in unused, unopened condition and in their original packaging. Please note that sale items are non refundable.
