Islamic books and learning

This is the largest department in the shop, and it covers four different needs: Qurans and tafseer, general Islamic reading for adults, madrassah kitaabs and set work, and books written for children. Alongside them sit the practical things that go with a Quran, including juzdaans and covers, rehals and learning aids.

Because the range runs to several hundred titles across publishers, it is worth using the filters or starting from one of the narrower pages below rather than working through it in one go. Madrassah set work in particular moves in step with the school year.

Questions and answers

What kinds of Islamic books do you stock?
The range covers Qurans and tafseer, hadith collections, seerah and general Islamic reading, madrassah kitaabs and children's books. It runs to several hundred titles across a number of publishers.
What is a juzdaan?
A juzdaan is the cloth cover or bag used to protect a Quran when it is not being read. They are stocked in several sizes, since a pocket Quran and a large print Quran need different covers.
Do you stock Qurans with English translation?
Yes, translated and dual language Qurans are stocked alongside Arabic only editions. The languages included are listed on each product page, which is worth checking before ordering as a gift.
What size Qurans do you have?
Editions run from pocket sizes made for travel through to large print copies intended for reading at home. Dimensions and print size are given on the product page where the publisher provides them.
Do you stock madrassah kitaabs and set work?
Yes, madrassah kitaabs are a standing part of the range, and demand rises at the start of the madrassah year. If you are buying to a set list, check the exact title and edition, since publishers differ.
Are the books in English or Arabic?
Both, along with some dual language editions. The language is stated on each product page, and it is the detail most worth confirming when buying for a child.
Do you stock books for children?
Yes, and the children's range is substantial, from board books for toddlers to story collections for older readers. It sits on its own page so you can browse it without the adult titles.
Which publishers do you carry?
The range spans a number of Islamic publishers rather than a single house, which is why the same subject often appears in several editions. The publisher is listed on each product page.
Can I order a book you do not have listed?
It is worth asking, since the range shifts as publishers restock and not everything is listed at once. Contact us with the title and edition and we will tell you whether it can be sourced.
Do you have a rehal or Quran stand?
Quran stands and reading accessories are stocked alongside the juzdaans and covers. Availability varies, so check the current listings on the related pages.
Can I browse the books in store?
Yes, and it is the department people most often prefer to browse in person. Cii Stores is a physical shop in Ormonde, Johannesburg, and you can also order online for delivery across South Africa.
How much do the books cost?
Titles start from around R15 for small children's books and run to roughly R699 for large tafseer sets and premium Qurans. Most of the range sits well below the upper end.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
Standard shipping is R160 and orders are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Delivery is free on orders over R1000.
Can I return a book?
Yes. Non consumable items can be returned within 7 days in unused, unopened condition and in their original packaging. Please note that sale items are non refundable.
