Towards Reading The Quran Part One

What is this book?

It is the first part of the Towards Reading the Quraan series, used to teach children to read Quranic Arabic. It is the starting point of the series.

What class is it for?

It is intended for a child in the first year of study, usually class 1 at madrassah. Later parts in the series follow in subsequent years.

How many parts are in the series?

The series runs across several parts, and the ones currently stocked show on our madrassah kitaabs page. Check which part your madrassah has set before ordering.

Is it the same as a qaidah?

It serves the same purpose, teaching a child to read Quranic script from the beginning. Madrassahs differ in which series they prescribe, so follow the set list you are given.

Does a child need a teacher to use it?

It is written for classroom use with a teacher, which is how it is normally worked through. Parents often use it at home alongside madrassah rather than instead of it.

What language is it in?

It teaches Quranic Arabic script, with instruction suited to South African madrassah use. Full detail is on this page.

Who publishes it?

It is published by the Lenasia Muslim Association. That is why it is so widely prescribed in South African madrassahs specifically rather than imported series.

When should I buy it?

Before the madrassah year starts if you can. Set work moves fastest in the first weeks of term, and specific parts are hardest to find then.

Can I buy it in store?

What else does a child need for madrassah?

A juzdaan for the Quran, a bag and the rest of the set list are the usual additions. Our madrassah range gathers them together.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?

Standard shipping is R160 and orders are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Delivery is free on orders over R1000.

Can I return this item?

Yes. As a non consumable item, it can be returned within 7 days in unused, unopened condition and in its original packaging. Please note that sale items are non refundable.
