Madrassah books are bought differently to anything else in the shop: to a list, at a specific time of year, and usually for a specific edition. What is a kitaab?
Kitaab simply means book, and in madrassah use it refers to the prescribed textbooks children work through. Most madrassahs set a specific series and part number for each year.
What is a qaidah?
A qaidah is the beginner's book used to learn to read Arabic letters and Quranic script before moving on to the Quran itself. It is usually the first book a child is given at madrassah.
What is a takhtee?
A takhtee is a handwriting chart or board used to practise forming Arabic letters correctly. Beginner charts are the most commonly bought.
How do I know which kitaab my child needs?
Work from the list the madrassah gives you, and match the exact title and part number rather than the subject. Different madrassahs use different series, so a close match is often the wrong book.
Do you stock all the parts in a series?
The common series are stocked across their parts, though availability varies through the year. If a specific part is not showing, it is worth asking whether it can be sourced.
When should I buy madrassah books?
Early. Demand rises sharply at the start of the madrassah year and specific parts are hardest to find once term has begun.
Are these books in English or Arabic?

How much do madrassah kitaabs cost?
Most titles run from around R20 to R650, with charts and qaidahs at the low end and larger reference sets at the top. The bulk of a typical set list sits well under R150 per book.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?

Can I return a madrassah book?
Yes. Non consumable items can be returned within 7 days in unused, unopened condition and in their original packaging. Please note that sale items are non refundable.
