Questions and answers

What does part two cover?

It is the second book in the Towards Reading the Quraan series, continuing from part one. It builds on the letters and joining introduced in the first book.

What class is part two for?

It is intended for a child in the second year of study, usually class 2 at madrassah. Children normally work through part one the year before.

Do I need part one first?

Yes, the series is sequential and part two assumes what part one teaches. Buying them out of order tends to leave a child stuck.

How is it different from part one?

Part one starts from recognising and forming letters, while part two moves on to reading them together with more confidence. The step up is deliberate rather than steep.

Who publishes the series?

It is published by the Lenasia Muslim Association. That is why it is prescribed so widely in South African madrassahs rather than the imported alternatives.

Can a parent teach from it at home?

Parents often work through it at home alongside madrassah, and the layout supports that. It is written for classroom use with a teacher, so it works best as reinforcement.

How long does a child spend on it?

Typically a madrassah year, in line with the class it is set for. Progress varies by child and by how much reading happens at home.

When should I buy it?

Before the madrassah year begins if possible. Set work is hardest to find once term has started and everyone is buying the same parts.

Do you stock the other parts?

The parts currently in stock show on our madrassah kitaabs page. If a specific one is not listed, it is worth asking whether it can be sourced.

Can I check the edition in store?

Yes. Cii Stores is a physical shop in Ormonde, Johannesburg, and matching a madrassah set list is far easier with the book in hand. You can also order online for delivery across South Africa.

What else does a child need for madrassah?

A juzdaan for the Quran, a bag and the rest of the prescribed kitaabs are the usual additions. Our madrassah range gathers them together.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?

Standard shipping is R160 and orders are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Delivery is free on orders over R1000.

Can I return this item?

Yes. As a non consumable item, it can be returned within 7 days in unused, unopened condition and in its original packaging. Please note that sale items are non refundable.
