The food department is built around the things that carry meaning as well as taste: dates in their main varieties, ZamZam water, natural honey, and dried fruit and nuts. They are what get bought for opening a fast, for visitors, and for taking to someone's home.

Most of it is stocked both loose and in presentation packs, because the same items serve as an everyday staple and as a gift depending on how they are boxed. Availability shifts more here than anywhere else in the shop, since demand rises sharply through Ramadan and Hajj season.

How should I store dried fruit and nuts?
Keep them sealed in a cool, dark place, and refrigerate in warm weather to stop the oils turning. Nuts in particular keep far better cold than in a cupboard.

What does the food range cost?
Prices run from around R30 for smaller packs to roughly R799 for premium varieties and large hampers. Everyday dates and dried fruit sit at the lower end.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
Standard shipping is R160 and orders are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Delivery is free on orders over R1000.
Can I return a food item?
Consumable items can only be returned unopened and in their original sealed packaging, within 7 days. Please note that sale items are non refundable.
