What is Yassarnal Quraan?

It is one of the most widely recommended books for teaching Quranic Arabic reading, used by children and adults alike. Part two continues from the first book in the series.

Is it only for children?

No. Adults learning to read Arabic use it just as much, which is unusual for a book of this kind and part of why it is so widely recommended.

What does part two teach?

It continues building Arabic reading skill from where part one leaves off. The progression is gradual, which is what makes it work for adult beginners as well.

Do I need part one first?

Yes, the parts are sequential and part two assumes the ground covered in part one. Starting at part two usually means going back.

Can I learn from it without a teacher?

Many adults work through it alone, though a teacher or someone who reads well makes a real difference with pronunciation. Reading aloud to someone is the usual advice.

How is it different from a qaidah?

It serves the same purpose of teaching Quranic reading, and different madrassahs prefer different series. Follow whichever your madrassah or teacher has set.

Is it used in South African madrassahs?

Yes, it is a common choice here alongside other reading series. Check any set list before ordering, since prescribed series differ.

How much does it cost?

It is R40, which puts it among the least expensive books stocked. That is part of why it is often bought for a whole class.
