Description

The Emirati kandura, scaled down for boys. A round collar, a clean seamless front closed by four hand stitched snap on buttons, and contrast embroidery down the placket: the same quiet detailing as the adult cut, in sizes that start at baby rompers and run to teen fits.

Both colourways match the adult Amaani Emirati Kandura: Utopia in black with a two tone embroidered placket, and Prism in slate grey with embroidery along the placket and sleeves. The 100% spun polyester washes warm with light colours and keeps its crisp drape through the school term.

Questions and answers

What is the Amaani Emirati Kandura Kids?

It is the boys version of Amaani's Emirati kandura: a collarless thobe with a round collar, contrast embroidery down the placket and four hand stitched snap on buttons. This listing carries both colourways, Utopia in black and Prism in slate grey.

What is the difference between Utopia and Prism?

Utopia is black with a two tone embroidery contrast on the placket. Prism is slate grey and carries its contrast embroidery along both the placket and the sleeves. The cut, buttons and fabric are the same on both.

How is a kandura different from a regular thobe?

A kandura is the Emirati style: collarless with a round neckline and a clean, minimal front, where a Saudi style thobe carries a shirt style collar. The snap on buttons sit behind the placket, so the front stays seamless.

What sizes does it come in?

Sizes run from 16 through 50. The two smallest, 16 and 18, are cut as rompers for babies of 0 to 3 and 3 to 6 months, and the regular sizes 20 to 50 then cover toddlers through to teens. The size picker on this page shows what is available in each colourway.

Can my son match with his father?

Yes. The adult Amaani Emirati Kandura is stocked at Cii Stores in the same two colourways, so a father and son pair is one order. Search for the Amaani Emirati Kandura on ciistores.com to complete the set.

How does it fasten?

With four hand stitched snap on buttons behind the placket. Snaps are quick for school mornings and easy for small fingers, and they keep the front looking clean.

What fabric is it made from and how do I care for it?

100% spun polyester, a fabric chosen because it holds a crisp drape, survives regular washing and does not need fussing over, which matters in a boys wardrobe. Machine wash cool with light colours or hand wash, hang to dry and iron on a warm setting if needed.

Who is it for?

Boys from newborn to teen. The black Utopia leans formal for family occasions, while the slate grey Prism handles the masjid, madrassah and everything in between.

Is this suitable as a gift?

Yes. A kandura is a distinctive alternative to the usual boys thobe gift, and both shades are safe, wearable choices. You can add other items from the Cii Stores range to the same order.

Can I see it in store before buying?

Yes. The kids range is stocked at Cii Stores, Shop 4, Ormonde Shopping Centre, Johannesburg, so you can check sizes in person before choosing.

What else do you stock for kids?

Cii Stores carries a full kids department, including kids thobes across styles, kids musallahs, Islamic toys and books. Browse the Kids department on ciistores.com.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?
