What is the Amaani Omani Thobe?

It is Amaani's take on the classic Omani thobe: a collarless cut with a round neckline, an attached collar tassel, embroidered contrast on the placket and cuffs, and a single hand stitched Omani button. This listing carries all four Amaani colourways in one place.

What colourways can I choose from?

What is the tassel on the collar?

The attached tassel, known as a farakha, is the signature of a traditional Omani thobe and hangs from the round collar. On this design it comes attached, so the thobe wears authentically straight out of the packet.

How does it fasten?

With a single hand stitched Omani button and loop at the top of the placket. It is a deliberately minimal closure that keeps the embroidered placket as the focus.

What fabric is it made from and how do I care for it?

It is made from 100% spun polyester, a fabric chosen because it holds a crisp drape, keeps its colour and stands up to regular wear and washing. Machine wash cool with light colours or hand wash, hang to dry and iron on a warm setting if needed. The embroidery is stitched in, not printed, so it survives normal washing.

How does Amaani thobe sizing work?

Amaani sizes combine a length number with a fit letter. The number, 52 to 62, is the length of the thobe, from 133 cm on a 52 up to 158 cm on a 62, and the letter sets the body fit, with S the slimmest cut and the letters widening through M, L, XL and beyond. A 56M, for example, is a 143 cm length in a medium fit. This Omani is stocked in the widest size spread of the range, from 52S through 62XXXL depending on colourway.

Are all sizes available in every colourway?

Almost. Fossil and Topaz run the full spread including 60XXXL, while Desert Coral and Aura skip that one code. The size picker on this page shows exactly what is available in each colourway.
