What is a velcro ihram?

It is an ihram set where the lower cloth fastens with a velcro strap instead of relying on the wrap alone. You wrap it around the waist and secure the strap, so it holds without a separate belt.

Do I still need an ihraam belt with it?

No. The velcro strap is what holds the lower garment in place, which is the main reason people choose this style. A belt can still be worn if you want the extra pockets.

Does it have a pocket?

Yes, it includes a detachable hidden pouch sized for a cell phone, passport and small essentials. Being detachable means you can leave it off when you do not need it.

What sizes does it come in?

It is stocked in M, L and XL. Because the lower cloth wraps and fastens rather than fitting to a measurement, the sizing is more forgiving than a stitched garment.

What fabric options are there?

Each size comes in micro fibre and in cotton. Cotton breathes more naturally while micro fibre is lighter and dries faster, so it comes down to preference.

Is it lightweight?

Yes, it is made as a light and soft ihraam, which matters over long days in heat. The micro fibre option is the lighter of the two fabrics.

Should I wash it before travelling?

Washing a new set before you travel is common practice and softens the cloth so it sits better. Wash it plain, without scented detergent or fabric softener.

Can I practise wrapping it before I go?

Yes, and it is worth doing at home rather than working it out on arrival. The velcro version is simpler than a plain wrap, but it still helps to have done it once.

Is it suitable for a first time pilgrim?

It is the style most often chosen by first timers, precisely because the fastening removes the worry of the cloth slipping in a crowd. If you have not worn ihram before, it is the easier of the two options to manage.
