Mada weave their prayer mats in Al-Madinah Munawwarah. Most mats sold here are made in Turkey or China and carry a Madinah design; these are made in the city itself.
Thick or thin
The Rawdah mats are the plusher option at 8mm, 110cm by 70cm with a tassel fringe. You feel the difference praying on tile or wood. Their designs come from the architecture of the Prophet's Mosque, arches and domed niches in green, cream and red.
The Jewar mats are flatter at 4mm, and the finer weave is what lets them carry much more detail. Both here take the Kabah itself: one from the Kiswah that covers it, one from the stonework beneath. Deep black with gold work.
If you want cushioning, take a Rawdah. If you want the Kabah designs, take a Jewar.
