What is the Amaani Omani Thobe Kids?

It is the boys version of Amaani's collarless Omani thobe, with a round collar, an attached collar tassel, contrast embroidery on the placket and cuffs and a single hand stitched Omani button. This listing carries all four colourways in one place.

Four: Desert Coral, crisp white with coral embroidery; Topaz, crisp white with cerulean blue on the placket; Aura, stone blue with cream embroidery; and Fossil, fossil grey with cream embroidery. They are the same four colourways as the adult Omani, so matching is easy.

What sizes does it come in?

Sizes run from 16 through 50. The two smallest, 16 and 18, are cut as rompers for babies of 0 to 3 and 3 to 6 months, and the regular thobe sizes 20 to 50 then cover toddlers through to teens. The size picker on this page shows what is available in each colourway.

What is the tassel on the collar?

The attached tassel, known as a farakha, is the signature of a traditional Omani thobe and hangs from the round collar. It comes attached, so the thobe wears authentically straight out of the packet.

What fabric is it made from and how do I care for it?

100% spun polyester, a fabric chosen because it holds a crisp drape, survives regular washing and does not need fussing over, which matters in a boys wardrobe. Machine wash cool with light colours or hand wash, hang to dry and iron on a warm setting if needed. The embroidery is stitched in, not printed, so it survives normal washing.

How does it fasten?

With a single hand stitched Omani button and loop at the top of the placket. There are no fiddly rows of buttons, which makes dressing younger boys quicker.
